Calculated enrichment factor (EF) values in soils are summa- rized in the Table 2. EF values were illuminated with the limitation defined by Taylor (1964). The average EF values of the metals were found in the order of As (4.81) > Cr (2.74) > Pb (2.05) > Ni (1.53) > Zn (1.37) > Cu (1.13). The mean EF values suggest minimal enrichment for Cr, Ni, Cu, Zn, and Pb unlike As which indicates moderate enrichment. Since the mean EF values for Cu and Zn are less than 1.5, the main reason for the enrichment of these metals is natural resources. The mean EF values for Cr, Ni, As and Pb were higher than 1.5. The enrichment sources of these metals are thought to be anthropogenic. The results show that the soils in the investigated areas are contaminated with heavy metals (Cr, Ni, As and Pb), the main source of which is anthropogenic inputs from industrial activities.
