Recently, it has been found that ammonia can be directly used as an electron acceptor for denitrification, that is, the so-called anaerobic ammoxidation. Anammox process completely breaks with the basic concept of traditional biological denitrification, and treats high ammonia, low BOD wastewater with microorganisms. Nitrogen removal is carried out using the principle of ammonia and nitrite to produce nitrogen dispersion to the atmosphere.
