I don't think that he will commit less sin because whether or not he will commit sin is up to him. The reason why I don't think he will commit less sin is because the sin that he committed was to make the choice of joining the ritual. Therefore, whether or not the other participants are strangers, it doesn't change the fact that Brown made the choice to go to the ritual in the first place. I think he would feel less helpless about human because he wouldn't have to go through the process of doubting everyone he thought he once knew and question everything in his life because he does not know these strangers. He could just leave what he saw or experienced at the ritual there and try to forget them because he does not have to see these strangers ever again. What cause him to break down is that he feels like everything and every person in his life is fake and they are not who they seem to be and this causes him to question everything he sees.
