summarized the key features of the three distinct types of technological experiences that learners engaged in and illustrated the relationship between the assistive type of technology use and the three distinct types of technological experiences. With the three distinct types of technological experiences and their influencing forces identified, a survey study was then conducted to examine language learners’ engagement in the three types of technological experiences and to model the influence of the identified factors on these different types of technological experiences. The survey study did not include the assistive type of technology use because this type of use did not stand alone as a learning experience but rather was affiliated to and accompanied the other three types of technological experiences.
