The selection of each resident should be based on some criteria. These criteria define the profile of the resident which will help attain the objective of the shelter mission. If, for example, the objective of the shelter management is to have candidates who pass through transformation and become leaders, from the admission to the reintegration of these candidates managers and social workers should see the traits, conditions and criteria which will make the candidates leaders. In the model of city of joy, we do not recruit all survivors of gender based violence.
