1 PURPOSE AND APPLICATION FIELD
This document cancels and replaces the previous edition, prepared in March 2012.

The main changes made, in relation to the previous version, result from the necessity of keeping the compliance with the document DEF-C44-506/N (Equipment for networking monitoring, remote management and metering, static, matched for singe-phase / three-phase BTN points – Functional Specification) This version of the document includes the elucidation of some requirements, of which those related with the quality of service and to the attachment D (display and menus) must be pointed out. New requirements related with the access security and data transport have been included as well. The generation of events has been described more clearly, and also a table of events has been added to the attachment A where the association between events and requirements has been introduced.

This document is intended to describe the functions required to equipment of network monitoring, metering and remote management of the Public Illumination (IP), direct connection, single-phase and three-phase, static technology, mentioned in the segment just as "equipment”.

The characteristics and tests of such equipments are defined in the document DMA-C44-507/N. In addition, the document DEF-C44-507/N complements the standards concerning the data model to be used and to some aspects of the communication interfaces.

This equipment has the capacity of remote communication aiming at the network management, remote management and remote metering of the IP, and enables future changes or addition of new functionalities.

The functions described herein, considered as the least ones required, do not limit the possible existence of other ones, or of more complexity, once such event do not cause inconveniences regarding the utilization of the devices.
