This is with regards to the Sixpack FAI inspection at Kingdom. We had requested Accton/Joytech engineers to come and do the FAI of the Sixpack chassis parts before assembly into the final part but find that none of the Accton engineers besides Curtis has done anything (any measurements) to ensure the parts are made to your satisfaction. I understand that Accton/Joytech buys the final parts from the sheet metal house, but don’t you guys check the sheet metal parts at each stage to ensure they meet the dimensional requirements? The explanation I hear from the Joytech team is that they are only concerned about “cosmetic” and “final assembly” and not concerned about the earliest stages. Jimmy and I are doing all the FAI of the parts by looking at the dwg and checking the features.
This is quite disappointing to know that Accton/Joytech team has no experience with respect to managing a sheet metal house and the only thing you do is complain about the incoming quality. The engineers are sitting here doing nothing- if that was the case, why do we need them to come here at Kingdom? Also, since they are doing nothing, I don’t think we need them to go to Kingdom tomorrow.
Let me know if the Accton expectation is different with regards to sheet metal house FAI’s. I have not copied to many FB members to prevent a breakdown of our relationship with Accton.
