Announcement: Closure of Garena Stadium in Singapore





Dear gamers,

After serving the Singapore gaming community for the past three years, the Garena Stadium will officially close its doors on 4th May 2015.

We first launched the Garena Stadium in 2012 to offer a place where gamers could come together, play and network with other players from around Singapore, and we are pleased that it becamean important part of the rapidly expanding eSports scene here. However, as online gaming continued to evolve, we have noticed a significant shift in how our gamers want to participate in eSports – from a single location to large-scale offline events in varying locations, more regional online tournamentsand higher quality online streaming content.

Rest assured we will continue to champion eSports across Singapore and the region. To achieve this, we will be taking the following steps:

1. Increasing investments in large-scale events at renowned venues

This year, the slogan for Garena Carnival "Twice the size, Twice the fun" drives our ambition to bring bigger and better gaming and entertainment experiences. Occupying two halls at the state-of-the-art Suntec Singapore Convention & Exhibition Centre, Garena Carnival 2015 will take gaming to the next level with special lighting features and a giant Animated Projector screen - the very first at a gaming event in Singapore. Gamers can look forward to a full line-up of stage programmes featuring highly-anticipated final matches of key online leagues where you will witness the crowning of new local champions. Special in-game promotions and merchandise will also be offered to our gamers.

2. Improving the structure and increasing the total prize pool of our successful online and offline tournaments

A key example would be the restructuring of The Legends Circuit (TLC), a premier league for League of Legends (LoL). Formerly a combined Singapore-Malaysia tournament, TLC will now be split into two separate leagues to create dedicated national-level tournaments to accommodate more teams, players and greater rewards for our Singapore and Malaysia players.

3. Enhancing production and streaming quality with a new closed-door studio

Leveraging our production experience and acting on the feedback from the gaming community, this new studio will be furnished with cutting edge equipment and facilities in order to achieve better streaming and video production, which will enhance the entertainment experience.

We would like to demonstrate our sincerest appreciation to all our loyal customers and Garena Stadium Membership holders by holding a week-long members-only sale from 25th April to 3rd May 2015. Members who present their membership cards at the Stadium during this period will enjoy a special 30% discount on selected items.
