Ecclesiasticus. This compendium of Jewish wisdom dates from second century B.C.,probably between 200-180.The author sirach, wrote in hebrew, but it was mainly the greek translation by his grandson that was used by the western world until the last one hundred years. Then the hebrew text came to be known. there is no primary structural outline of the book that can be offered here. at certain points significant hymns appear and the praise of the fathers is a clearly defined unit.
