There are two level schemes of factors that motivate travelers to travel in the decision- making process and they are “push” and “pull” factors (Geoffrey, 2004). “The push factors are those that make you want to travel and the pull factors are those affect where to travel” (Pizam and Mansfeld, 1999, p8). “Motivational push forces are the needs and desires with the travelers which activate them to move towards a destination. Basic and higher needs cause the primary demand to travel (push), while the secondary motives are considered as pull forces of the destination” (Uysal, 1994, p145). The factors of pushing people to go for travel is that they want to “escape from mundane environment, exploration and evaluation of self, relaxation, prestige, regression: enhancement of kinship relationships, and facilitation of social interaction” (Pizam and Mansfeld, 1999, p9), while “the pull motives were novelty and education” (Geoffrey, 2004, p.52).
