When the period starting from 6 hours after the extubation to the discharge from ICU was examined, it was observed that 20%(n = 6) of the patients experienced no complications, whereas 26.7% (n = 8) had laryngospasm,6.7% (n = 2) extubated unplanned for the second time, and 3.3% (n = 1) had aspiration. Unfortunately,43.3% (n = 13) of the ICU patients with unplanned extubations died prior to discharge from the ICU (Table 2).
