(i) Transportation of ore from mines should be done only through covered conveyor belts and railway networks, with bunker loading to railway wagons.(ii) Dust suppression systems should be installed at each of the transfer points along the conveyor belts.(iii) Maintaining proper haul road gradients, filling pot holes and spraying water mixed with binding adhesive on the haul road surfaces.(iv) Conversion of as unpaved roads to paved roads.(v) Regular cleaning of roads with truck mounted dust collecting systems and water spraying.(vi) Dust at loading and unloading points should be suppressed usingmist cannon systems.(vii) Use of wet drilling or dust extraction systems during drilling operations.(viii) Proper maintenance of heavy earth moving machinery.(ix) Installation of effective dry fog dust suppression systems at crushing and screening plants.(x) Biological reclamation should be carried out on overburden dumps, mined out areas and mine waste lands.(xi) Development of green belts along lease boundaries, transport roads and other dust emitting sources. The suggested plant species for green belt development are Azadirachata indica (Neem),Acacia nilotica (Babul), Delbergia sisoo (Shishum), Tectona grandis(Teak), Mangifera indica (Aam), Aegale marmelos (Bel) etc.
