The questionnaire of in-depth interview
Before doing the interview in Hsing Tian Kong I draw up a questionnaire based
on research questions. I used this questionnaire to ensure the direction of interview
and help myself to assume variety idea from interviewees. However, I did not totally
follow the list of questionnaire, but encouraged interviewees to develop the main
questions with their ideas.
A. Would you get used to worship in Hsing Tian Kong from the previous?
Why?
B. Since last year, Hsing Tian Kong announced to stop burning incense, what
is your feeling at the first time worship in the temple without incense?
Reasons?
C. Does the regulation of Hsing Tian Kong influence on your personal life or
ideas? On the other hands, what is the influence on the temple? (ex: number
of believers, the efficacious power from gods to fulfill believers‟ dream)
D. People worship in the temple without burning incense, do you still burning
incense at home? Especially in the sacrificial festivals, such as Ching Ming
festival.

E. What is the reason caused you to keep burning incense in personal space?
F. Do you know virtual worship which is created on the internet recent year,
such as worship online?
