On the basis of this finding, a possible area of future research could be to identify the mechanisms through which phenomena such as burnout and work engagement influence the learning processes with respect to safe behavior at work. In conclusion, consistent with most previous literature (Barling, Loughlin, & Kelloway, 2002; Barling et al., 2005), this research indicates that a company’s commitment to adequate safety training is an important quality of its organizational culture.
