Objective-Driven
Global University courses are based on the objective-driven method of study. Objectives drive, unify, and hold together the course concepts, content, and assessment. They sum up all the major concepts of the course. Each course has broad objectives and lesson objectives. Every lesson objective relates, in some way, back to the broad course objectives. Lesson content relates to the lesson objectives.
In many undergraduate courses, each major lesson section is introduced with an objective-based guiding question whose answer reflects the main point of the section. Other courses use interactive questions in each section, again, with answers reflecting the main ideas. Guiding or interactive questions help you, as the student, focus on learning key concepts.
Assessment of student learning is based on course objectives. Objective-driven evaluation tools include study questions, essay questions, and tests.
