i never thought there was such a strong vibe of leadership within dance. I did not think dance could promote this kind of feeling within people. It was especially true for the Flamenco at 5:15 dance video. I thought the dance instructors showed great leadership with teaching the class the style of dance. They were able to promote confidence and energy through their leadership. I think this is a very positive thing to do. Empowering these students can definitely have a positive outcome on their lives.
I thought that the Falling Angels and Dunham’s Shango dances were different from each other but they were interesting in their own right. The first one I watched was Falling Angels which I had trouble initially following how it promoted leadership. I think that it promotes it through combined and mimicking dance moves. I thought the drumming added a nice beat towards the beginning but I think they should have changed the music mid way through to add variety. Dunham’s Shango had similar energetic moves that promoted leadership by example. Although I thought it was more upbeat than the other dance. A dance that showed leadership from the Dance Black Film was the dance involving jumping rope. I thought that promoted leadership through a shared goal of completing a routine together.
