Primary school: Became top student

Primary school: Became top student with a slightly above average total score of 256, which led me to apply for an autonomous secondary school - Chung Cheng High Main. Secondary school: Due to a mistake from low social awareness, I was ostracized by classmates at Chung Cheng High Main. Ended up skipping school, which led to much emotional burden on myself (I became clinically depressed for a while) and my parents, who had to deal with queries from school management. after about a month or so, I managed to pull myself together and decided to register at a neighbourhood school - Bendemeer Secondary - instead, as my primary school friends were mainly there. Things were better at Bendemeer, but I went through a stage of rebelliousness and adolescent angst that compromised my family relationship greatly. Emerged as valedictorian for my batch's GCE O'Level examination Junior College: applied to Nanyang JC for my first 3 months, and stayed on after that. Performed well and was the Student of the Year for my batch. Joined Outdoor activities Club (ODaC) which was my doorway to all the nature adventures and intensive sports. University: applied to Nanyang Technological University School of Business, and enrolled in the Double Degree in accountancy and Business course. Was a decision that made me realize how I was not cut out for a career in this line. During the course of study, was active in my CCa - Outdoor adventure Club (ODaC) and also went for exchange in Europe for a semester. Brought life-changing perspective switch for me, further added on by my venture into the social services sector through volunteering. Career: started out working as an internal auditor employed by the government. Had a really bad experience due to poor leadership/management, and also discovered that I was not suitable for the jobscope. Took a leap of faith and applied for a social work assistant role, accepting a huge pay cut. Successfully got a job at The Salvation army Peacehaven Nursing Home, where I discovered more about social work and developed a great love for it. Post-grad: Enrolled myself in the Graduate Diploma in Social Work coursework programme at National University of Singapore, in the hopes of furthering my career progress in social work.
