Alex is currently a general manager of the private pharmaceutical group in southeast Europe which operates in several countries in the region. The responsibilities include P&L, marketing strategy, IT and ecommerce strategy, group portfolio investment strategy, group companies overseeing and general management of operations.
Alex also keeps ties with the EBRD as a Senior Industrial Advisor for its Enterprise Growth Program as well as an Expert Advisor to Frontier Strategy Group based in Washington DC.
From 1992 to 2011 he lived and worked in South Africa. Starting his career with the international construction company in Europe in mid eighties Alex moved to SA to grow first in engineering and then in a construction company as a general manager. After spending 17 years in corporate environments he founded a boutique management consultancy in Johannesburg in 2001 - African Performance Specialists Inc - with the vision of being recognised for innovative and entrepreneurial solutions to strategic business problems. Between 2001 and 2011 Alex serviced over 40 clients from many industries, among them SA's blue chips, medium sized private companies and some SME-s through his relationship with the Endeavor South Africa.
Alex is Fellow and the Goodwill Ambassador of the Chartered Management Institute (UK). He is a Member of the Institute of Business Advisors (SA); registered as a Professional Engineer with the Engineering Council of South Africa and holds MBA & MSc [mech] degrees.
Alex enjoys being a leader and a key driver of change from within an organisation or being an external catalyst. He will consider all serious offers in Europe, Africa or Asia.
