One area of investigation related to transfer in GBLEs with very little research up to this point is the impact of gender on the transfer of learning. What is known is that boys exhibit higher self-efficacy for games and spend more time playing games than girls . Moreover, both boys and girls appear to benefit from GBLEs on content knowledge. Yet, an open question for the field is how gender impacts the process of attempting to transfer learning outside of GBLEs. Do varied gender-related experiences with GBLEs impact the process of achieving transfer outside GBLEs?
