Coal mine collapse kills 1 in northern Turkey
ANKARA, Dec. 30 (Xinhua) -- At least one person was killed in a coal mine collapse on Monday in Turkey's northern city of Zonguldak, local Today's Zaman reported. The collapse took place in Zonguldak's Kilimli neighborhood, where a closed coal mine was illegally operated. The man was trapped and killed by the sudden falling of coal pieces from the top, according to the report. A rescue team is still searching for victims at the crash site.
