I was troubled also because the role and expectations in the church and in the community seemed to have no biblical or theological basis. Pastors were expected to do certain things simply because that’s what pastors did. Not many people were interested in discussing the biblical role of a pastor, and fewer were willing to deal with the underlying and more fundamental question: What is a Christian pastor?
