The rate of passenger flow is different for arrivals and departures. Since passengers embarking on a cruise are actually coming from different points and on different modes of transportation, the flow may start in the morning and continue through to the afternoon. The process for disembarking passengers at the end of the trip is at the approximate rate of 1,200 to 1,400 persons per hour. Since, on average, the cruise vessels carry between 2,000 and 3,500 passengers and usually dock between 06:30 and 07:30 hours, by mid-morning all the passengers have disembarked.
