The Hong Kong Water Supplies Depart

The Hong Kong Water Supplies Department has begun to study the potential of using floating solar panel power generation systems to generate electricity in reservoirs. Two sets of 100 kW small systems are being installed as pilot schemes in Shibi Reservoir and Plover Cove Reservoir. Each system can generate up to 120,000 kWh per year, which is equivalent to the annual electricity consumption of 36 ordinary households.
