By the current models and standards, both millennials—and to a larger degree—the iGeneration both lack this mystical grit as it is defined. This can’t be, as some have suggested, the result of so much screen time or simply growing up with an electronic device (Androids, tablets, iPhones, iPads, Wiis, Playstations, etc) duct taped to their hands. This is the equivalent argument of viewing violence on tv correlating with people becoming more violent. Mere exposure to media won’t suddenly deflate a person’s drive or lesson their grit. But what sorts of content have the young been exposed to besides too many superhero films?
