Students often struggle to recognize the relevance of their coursework to their future work in the real world, which may negatively affect their motivation to learn. The “industry partners”model attempts to address this problem by pairing an industry professional and a college instructor to co-teach a class throughout an entire academic term. A computer science program at a four year university previously applied the model. In this case, the author adapts the model to a two-year professional-technical web development program. This article offers a reflection on that process and the results.
