The Customs Modernization Act (“Mod Act”) in December of 1993 states the importer of record is responsible for using reasonable care to enter, classify and determine the value of imported merchandise. The importer of record is also the liable party for all ISF and import customs clearance. All HTS codes must be provided by the IOR therefore we will not accept tariffs from the shipper.

Because Hayneedle is the importer of record and is held responsible for providing the correct tariff codes (a customs requirement on the ISF), we request that you send the packing slip listing all sku#’s along with a detailed description of each sku along with the ISF.

These instructions can be found on the ISF template submitted with all purchases orders. Our import routing guide also notes that the packing slip must be submitted with ISF.
