Apple (AAPL) is planning to set up a research and development center in Indonesia according to the latest reports. The tech giant has been holding talks with the Indonesian government as the country works to invite foreign investment and create jobs for its growing middle class. Apple has developed a similar project in Brazil and is working to insure that tin mined in Indonesia and used in Apple products is produced in safe and legal conditions. The Indonesian President Joko Widodo will make a trip to Silicon Valley next week to visit Apple headquarters and will also meet with other executives from Facebook (FB) and Microsoft (MSFT) during his trip.
