The two industry partners who were interviewed cited multiple reasons for participating in the program. Both explained that their participation was an outgrowth of previous contact and work with Highline’s Web Development program and indicated that they viewed participation as service to the community. For one, the primary motivation was self-improvement through the development and delivery of presentations related to Agile topics including test driven development, continuous integration, versioning, and Scrum. For the other, the motivation was related primarily to a positive relationship with the instructor, and was seen as a natural extension of that relationship. He also appreciated the opportunity to give back to Highline College, which has provided him with interns for several years.
