Baseline values and differences bet

Baseline values and differences between the mean changes in the groups were compared by Student’s t-test. The intra-group comparison (pre vs. post treatment) was performed using the paired t-test. The Fisher exact test was used to evaluate categorical variables. The significance level was set at 5% for all variables. All analyses were performed with statistical software (SigmaStat 3.5, Systat Software Inc.).
