LinkedIn Groups
Group: LinkEds & writers
Subject: Thanks for your request to join our group!
Hi, and thanks for your request to join. Please note it can sometimes take a couple of working days to process your request due my other commitments.
I'm afraid you'll not be allowed entry if you have fewer than two connections on Linkedin, if your profile summary does not show your writing/editing connection, or if your profile is in the name of a company.
Let me tell you about the group rules. Don't be daunted - I'm proud of providing a spam-free environment to a group of more than 55,000 members, and we need these rules to keep things running smoothly.
1. This group is intended for authors, editors, writers, etc. Its goal is to be the preferred place on LinkedIn for wordsmiths to share their advice, joys and frustrations.
2. If you find any comments objectionable, or regard something as spam, either 'Flag' the comment, or send me a note (phil@phiine.com) and I'll investigate as soon as possible.
3. I reserve the right to delete or move members' postings, impose restrictions on their ability to comment, and remove and block members without notice.
4. Before creating a new Discussion, search the existing Discussions: you will find many FAQs already covered (for example there are already several discussions in the archives about typical pay rates for various kinds of work.
5. Please investigate the Subgroups and post relevant material there.
6. Use the Promotions tabs to advertise events and so on. Use a Jobs discussion to post details of any *properly paid* job which may be of interest to our members, or to discuss topics related to finding/keeping/undertaking jobs.
7. Your post should allow discussion and debate among members without them needing to visit an external site. Our members should be able to participate in discussions without needing to leave LinkedIn. Your post should therefore contain all the necessary information for the discussion.
8. A post which consists of little more than a greeting/introduction, a link, or an attempt to promote your company or increase traffic to your site will not be approved.
9. This is a members-only group and, as such, material posted by our members to our Discussions is intended to remain private. Please do not re-use any material in other Linkedin groups or other websites without the relevant member's permission.
Thanks!
Phil Taylor (group owner)
