An electrical motor is installed in the inner cylinder, the COFdoes not pass through the inner cylinder, and it is not consideredin this investigation. The shape of decoration and functionalgroup protection is neglected. The simplified structure consistsof an outer cylinder, inner cylinder, GVE, and impeller, as illustratedin Fig. 5. The main structural parameters of the novelrange hood are: the diameter of inner cylinder (Di), outer cylinder(D), diffuser (Ddif), impeller inlet (D1) and outlet (D2), bladeheight (hb), blade inlet angular (b1) and outlet angular (b2), guidevane height (hg), number of blades (Nb) and guide vanes (Ng).The parameters of impeller, guide vanes, and diffuser are optimizedand the aerodynamic performance of the novel rangehood is studied. The parameters kept constant according toinstallation specifications and technical requirement are shownin Table 1.
