FindingsI have chosen to represent the findings through a metaphoricalmodel of an earthquake and aftershocks (seeFigure 1). I chose this model because it aptly describesthe teachers’ unique experiences of job stress (aftershocks)vis-a-vis the era of accountability (the earthquake).Just as with the aftermath of an earthquake, theperceived effects of significant educational reforms can be quite different depending on one’s location. Thismodel also provided a way to attend to both the particularisticcase qualities and the broader phenomenon ofstress (Stake, 2006). I shared the model with a peer auditorand with the participants and made revisions basedon their suggestions. Within each “layer” of the model, Ipresent themed findings.
