HSBC completed the sale of our business in Kazakhstan to Halyk Bank on Tuesday, 2 December.
The sale, first reported in February, is progress in implementing our strategy to be the leading international bank.
Since we communicated our strategy in 2011, the Group has announced 75 disposal and closure transactions, creating a more focused international network in line with our six filters framework that govern our investment criteria.
Future business opportunities in Kazakhstan are now subject to the Group's 6th Filter Policy for markets where HSBC does not have a physical presence and should be directed to the relevant Regional Business Head for further guidance and direction.
