Status – On HoldDescription – Paints/Chemicals/Adhesives were determined to be a major Inventory issue due to the inaccuracy of being able to accurately track usage. Proposed Solution - Switching the parts to a min/max system for items in the chemical room might help alleviate these errors, doing so would leave only the Inventory in the Chemical room in our inventory listing.Planned Execution – In order to conduct this, paints/chemicals/adhesives would need to be removed from all BOMs and their unit of measures changed to the purchasing unit of measure. A pilot program for BE paints and chemicals was begun.Results – Min/Max cards are in place and being used for ordering. Inventory accuracy has increased for pilot program parts, however further discussion, as well as the experience and expertise of Mike Pratt, has revealed the potential flaws of this methodology.
