However, gains in cognitive learning and development were found to increase usefulness, supporting H1, while gains in non-cognitive learning and development decrease it, leading to the rejection of H2. Next, academic challenge was found to have no significant effect on usefulness, leading to the rejection of H3. Further, a supportive campus environment was found to increase usefulness, supporting H4. Regarding barriers, the results show that two out of the three barriers examined in this study significantly influenced students’ intention to complete their studies.
