Compared to a modulation valve, binary CBV has a better reliability because the cycling's number is very much reduce. Practically there are necessary one cycle at each compressor crossing maneuver or 2-3 if a control closed loop is chosen for a high precision operation. For this kind of application, the general design of CBV may be done only for short time operation, so a small and light device could be made. More, a control from a digital system may be done directly. Despite all the new advantage of the STO proposal, STO engines have an important draw back when the engine is in deceleration process (at full load) and is necessary to cross from PO to inline compressor operation. As is shown, even the technological problems could be solved in a convenient way, the biggest inconvenience of STO comes from the basic conception, which is missing a natural crossing point from STO to PO. In the next paragraphs is presented a new conception able to operate with natural crossing points.
