E-mailspam, unwanted messages also known as "bulk e-mail" or"junk e-mail," started to become a problem on the Internetin 1990s. Spammers find different ways to obtain mailinglists.They collect e-mail addresses from chat rooms, websites,and newsgroups. They even use some programmer to guessaddresses, use viruses to gather information from users'address books, and buy e-mail addresses from otherspammers. Spammers simply sit back and click on the "send''button, and then hundreds, or even thousands, of e-mailcopies are sent to a mass of recipients in an instant.
