For K&S XY Table damage case, pls help to review and action to prevent potential risk.
Due to this is repair tools and we check and confirm with Finance in charge person that such kind of shipment due to not brand new and without public notary survey when
export from supplier, Insurance company won't accept our damage claim and we only can claim to Forwarder/carrier for this damage shipment.
The issue is when we claim to Forwarder/carrier, they will only based on the invoice value (the highest limit) to pay for the damage per IATA and Warsaw convention.
For this case, the highest reimbursement we can get from Forwarder/Carrier will be US$3,038 only, it may be less as they may apply per Kgs value to pay for it.
But our actual loss will higher than that (original repair cost US$3,038, plus back forth transportation cost and 2nd repair cost US$3,038). To minimize our loss, it
is advisable to buy Insurance for such kind of repair cargo shipment or need to have public notary survey report.
Therefore, in the future, for the repair shipments, users need to provide information to Finance for insurance or request supplier to do survey report when they return the repair cargo to us
to secure our benefit.
