Forty-five people suspected to be members of Boko Haram, were on Friday arrested and arraigned before an Isolo Magistrate in Lagos.
The suspects were arrested in the state by officers of Directorate of Security Service (DSS) following a tip-off.
The arrested suspects who were remanded in prison custody at Kirikiri pending the conclusion of investigation as requested by the DSS, include Abuyi Sheriff, Babagana Ali, Abass Ibrahim, Abubakar Grema, Kabiri Ibrahim, Mustapha Mohammed, Usman Mohammed and Modu Amsami. Others are Isa Agafi, Adamu Jebili, Saja Kamba and Abba Sagoma.
Others are Mallum Buchu, Abdul-Karemm Abba, Babagana Koloye, Usman Buka, Adamu Mohammed, Lawal Mohammed, Tela Abana, Mustapha Mohammed, Isa Agafi, Belo Modu, Kachala Babagana, Modu Abu, Alhaji Modu Mustapha and many others.
According to an affidavit presented before the court, DSS arrested suspects following an intelligence report that there will be terrorist attack in September 2015 by the terrorists group at Dolphin estate in Ikoyi, Etiosa Local government, Lagos.
The affidavit stated further that arms were recovered and the suspects made confessional statement after their arrest that they actually attempted to bomb the estate.
The DSS stated that it received a report that some members of Boko Haram had relocated to Lagos to cause mayhem, adding that it deployed a team to condone off the area and the suspects were intercepted and arrested before they could carry out their operation of bombing the state.
