In addition to the single effect of Ca and Mg contents, the ratio of (K+Mg)/Ca was proposed to be related to the incidence of bitter pit of apple (Bramlage, 1980; Sharples, 1980). However, the ratio of (K+Mg)/Ca in 4 kinds of shoot leaves appeared non-connection to the browning disorder of fruits in our study (Table 2), whereas the ratio of K/Mg of fruiting spur leaves had a highly positive relationship with the browning severity level (Table 2, Fig. 1). This result was consistent with our former findings in the fruits with browning disorder (Seo et al., 2015).
