TransPacket has included the Xtera range of Transmission Systems into its product portfolio. Xtera is a major provider of submarine cable systems as well as long-distance terrestrial optical transmission infrastructures, on any fiber types. Together with Xtera we can provide Turnkey Solutions for unrepeatered and repeatered systems based on our leading product lines and strong Systems Engineering and experienced Project Management teams.
Submarine
We provide high-performance Submarine Line Terminal Equipment (SLTE) to increase the capacity of any submarine cable asset beyond the original design capacity. We offer SLTEs for both repeatered and unrepeatered cable systems that maximize the capacity and the value of the undersea asset, and optical transport platform that is ideal to build ultra-high-capacity backhaul networks to connect cable landing stations to major Points of Presence (PoPs). Lastly, we have the capability and expertise to build turnkey solutions (including supply and installation of the submerged infrastructure) and manage large projects.
Terrestrial
We specialize in maximizing the combination of capacity and reach of terrestrial long-distance optical transmission infrastructures, on any fiber types. Relying on Xtera´s strong patent and technology portfolio, including the industry’s most advanced 100G design, we propose solutions for different types of terrestrial high-capacity networks, including backbone networks, ultra high-capacity backhaul networks for submarine cable systems, terrestrial unrepeatered links or terrestrial links with in-line amplifiers and long spans between intermediate sites, and terrestrial extension for submarine unrepeatered cable systems.
100G
Having deployed the world’s first 100G equipment with soft-decision Forward Error Correction (FEC) in commercial networks, Xtera is today a major supplier of 100G solutions for both subsea and terrestrial long-haul transmission infrastructures. Coupled with innovative, field-proven Raman optical amplification, we can offer ultra-high capacity and ultra-long reach for 100G networks. Some of Xtera´s achievements include the world’s widest 100G network deployment (22,000-km backbone network), the longest all-optical terrestrial link ever deployed (2,500 km), and the first commercial repeatered subsea cable system with 100G wavelengths.
