The model of Travel-career ladder of needs (TCL) was developed by Pearce (1988) based on Maslow’s (1970) Hierarchy of Needs Model of psychological growth (Williams and McNeil, 2011), which TCL model is a more comprehensive of psychological of needs in travel. The model of TCL is “emphasizes on the tourist’s patterns and motives rather than a single motive for travelling” (Williams and McNeil, 2011, p3). For TCL, it has divided into five levels, which the lowest is physiological, followed up by safety/ security, relationship, self-esteem/ development and the highest level is fulfillment needs. Moreover, this model has retained the Maslow’s idea of fulfilling the lower levels on the ladder in order to satisfy a higher level of the ladder (Goeldner, Ritchie and Mclntosh, 2000). Besides, TCL are emphasizing in the motives on travel experiences which this flexibility and variability on the motivation will change over time and across situation (Goeldner, Ritchie and Mclntosh, 2000).
