Ultrasound scan showed that the portal vein curved towards the liver The fetal gall bladder located medically to the umbilical vein i.e.between the umbilical vein & the stomach.the umbilical vein is abnormally connected to the right portal vein instead of to the left portal vein.this is consistent with persistent right umbilical vein.persistent right umbilical vein is a vascular pathology in which the left umbilical vein becomes occluded & the right umbilical vein persists and remains open.this condition may associate with kidney and heart abnormality.in the absent of these anomalies,it does not have significant clinical implementation and is likely a normal variant.the cardiac anatomy appeared normal.i indicated minor abnormalities of valves and trivial vsd's could not be excluded but there were no suspicious of either of these based upon today's scan
