This study analyzes motivation and decision-making of college students on choosing part-time work, and it also discusses the roles of family and school on the process of decision-making. In addition, the struggles of working students are examined. Through qualitative analyses the author found that family relationship was not negatively impacted by part-time work among the working students. However, the work brought burdens on schoolwork, participation of class, and school activities. The working students not only faced challenges because of working pressure, self- requirement, and interpersonal relationship but also had difficulties to adjust the differences between professional knowledge and applications. Furthermore, working insurance and benefits of contracts should be concerned by society. Generally speaking, most students handled well on their part-time jobs, and they were able to face and challenge all difficulties.
