The combination of amphetamine and chlordiazepoxide was reported to cause hyperactivity (Vale and Ratcliffe, 1987) and this was used to test the effects of mood stabilizers. Lithium, valproate, carbamazepine (Arban et al., 2005; Vale and Ratcliffe, 1987), levetiracetam (Vale and Ratcliffe, 1987), and lamotrigine (Arban et al., 2005) were reported to be effective for this model.
