Condolences have poured in for the hawking control inspector who died three days after he was knocked to the ground in Central, allegedly by an illegal vendor.
Wu Kwong-shum, 58, was certified dead at 4.55pm yesterday at Queen Mary Hospital.
Wu was found unconscious on the pavement outside 25 Des Voeux Road on Sunday.
His death led to a charge against a 36-year-old Pakistani man being charged from wounding to manslaughter.
Police said their initial investigations revealed that Wu hit his head on the ground after being pushed by the Pakistani, who surrendered to police on Tuesday.
He will appear in Eastern Magistrates Court for mention today. His name had not been released.
