Global warming has been causing glaciers around the world to melt. Though this is bad news for the planet, this melting ice has revealed some important discoveries. One such discovery was recently found in the American state of Alaska. Army soldiers were flying over a glacier in a helicopter when they noticed something unusual: a tire and a yellow life boat sitting on the ice. They realized they were looking at a crashed plane. They landed on the glacier and found the remains of the people who had been on the plane. It turned out that the bodies they found were Air Force soldiers whose plane had crashed in 1952. All 52 soldiers on the plane were killed, but their bodies and the wreck of the plane were frozen inside the glacier and could not be recovered. Now, more than six decades later, as the glacier melts, the wreck and the bodies are being revealed. Investigators with the Air Force may now be able to give the soldiers' families more information about what happened that caused the plane to crash.
