Rumah Mendelssohn was built by our first prime minister,tunku Abdul Rahman putra in alor setar. This two stores house was completed in 1952.at this time,the tunku was 49 years old.this house was the most beautiful homes in alor setar.the tunku chose this place because he liked to go fishing.
