After your interaction with dance this week how would you say it is best to understand the context of a dance?
The context of a dance, just like the meaning of a dance, is multiple. Processing that the context of the dance can be to take a micro or macro perspective; or, you can apply the elements of the rhetorical situation onto the dance context to add new dimensions of possibilities for the meaning of that dance.
The context of the dance can be many but I choose to see the dance just from my own perspective without considering the many different angles of the dance and how those angles could enhance the meanings of the dance for me.
The context of the dance is social and thus only what the dance is saying through the movement content is what is most important.
The context of the dance is just the dancer's body and thus limited to the perception and experience of the dancer alone.
