10-24. The JM will conduct a proper door safety check in the following manner: They grasp the lead edge of the door with their lead hand and transfers control of their USLM to the safety. (See figure 10-8, and figure 10-9 on page 10-12.) They then grasp the trail edge of the door with their trail hand centering their body in the door without having any part of their feet on the jump platform. Using only the lead hand, they ensure the push in place pin is in place, securing the jump door in the open position on the C-130.Note. The JM must ensure the safety has positive control of the USLM before moving toward the paratroop door.
